It's Such a Good Feeling

Written by Fred Rogers | © 1970, Fred M. Rogers

It's such a good feeling
To know you're alive.
It's such a happy feeling:
You're growing inside.
And when you wake up ready to say,
"I think I'll make a snappy new day."
It's such a good feeling,
A very good feeling,
The feeling you know
You're alive.

It's such a good feeling
To know you're in tune.
It's such a happy feeling
To find you're in bloom.
And when you wake up ready to say
"I think I'll make a snappy new day,"
It's such a good feeling,
A very good feeling,
The feeling you know that we're friends.

Notes

In this song's earliest days, the line "I think I'll make a snappy new day" was sung as "I think I'll grow twelve inches today."

Occasionally referred to by a shortened title, "Good Feeling."

On modern episodes of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, this song was used to close the program. At the end of the fifth episode of each weekly series, the song was followed by a verse of song referred to as "The Weekend Song."

A jazzy version of this song is performed by a group of performers (including blind saxophonist Eric Kloss) in Make-Believe on Episode 1184.

"It's such a good waffle" sung on Episode 1361

A variation of this song is used as the closing theme for Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood.
