Mister Rogers arrives with an empty suitcase which he plans to loan to the McFeelys. Using a sweater from the closet, he demonstrates how a suitcase is packed and compares the suitcase to his briefcase. Thinking about how it takes a person to do everything, Mister Rogers shares a poem about this idea and watches a film about people doing activities they enjoy.
Mr. McFeely stops by to pick up the suitcase. He has just purchased a microscope to take to his granddaughter who has shown an interest in botany. Mister Rogers offers to help keep the Speedy Delivery service running while the McFeelys are gone.
In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Robert Troll is happy to have learned that Queen Sara has recovered from her sickness. Dr. Bill Platypus plans to give the queen a microscope to use while she regains her strength. Robert Troll collects various plants for her to look at through the microscope.
Back at the house, Mister Rogers takes out a telescope and briefly explains how it is different from a microscope. Holding one of his plants, he encourages viewers to look closely at the leaves as he sings Look and Listen. Mister Rogers invites his friend from the museum to visit later in the week. His friend makes wax models of plants for the museum and agrees to visit on Friday. Mister Rogers thinks about all that he has planned for the rest of the week and concludes by singing Days of the Week.
Notes
Among other items inside Mister Rogers' briefcase are an extra microphone and files of "songs [he's] writing and programs [he's] writing."
Mister Rogers recites the following lines as he feeds the fish and leads into the film:
It takes a person to feed a fish
It takes a person to talk to a friend
It takes a person to care for a pet
You see, it takes a person like you and meIt takes a person to build a bridge
It takes a person to sing a song
It takes a person to think of things to do
I'm a person and so are you
It takes a person for everything
During the film, Many Ways To Say I Love You plays in the background.
While the McFeelys are traveling, Mr. McFeely mentions that Bob Trow will be taking care of the Speedy Delivery service and Betty Aberlin will be taking care of their animals.
According to Dr. Bill Platypus, the microscope he plans to give to Queen Sara is one he had when he was in high school."
The telescope Mister Rogers takes out is quite similar to the one used to lead into Make-Believe on early Neighborhood episodes.
