Description

The Fred Rogers Company has heard time and again from parents and teachers that children with autism connect in powerful ways with the calming pace, caring tone, and predicability of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. They say that watching the program helps decrease anxiety and excitability, improve listening and speaking skills, and encourage imaginative play. With this DVD, we hope to help more children, parents, and professionals use the program as a tool for social and emotional learning.

Each episode includes an optional introduction for parents and professionals by the following individuals:

  • Michelle Lubetsky, M.Ed, Behavioral Analyst & Special Education Consultant
  • Martin Lubetsky, M.D., Child and Adolescent Psychologist
  • Terry Sheffey, B.S., Community Outreach Coordinator
  • Stacy Porter Smith, M.S., Social Skills Therapist

Viewers are welcomed by Mark Strauss, Ph.D., Developmental Psychologist and Board Chair, Autism Speaks Greater Pittsburgh Chapter
