Misterogers (CBC, 1/10/1964)

Network: Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Air Date: January 10, 1964

Mister Rogers removes the Trolley from its track as it passes by. Placing a doll and toy soldier on the Trolley, he makes up a song – Dolly in the Trolley.

In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Elan Stuart – a voice instructor – helps Mrs. Frogg place a card into the filing system at the Museum-Go-Round. Ms. Stuart borrows the item listed on the card – music for a song called (?) So True by Lou. Mrs. Frogg describes the piece as an “ancient folk tune” about a bird and a hound.

Taking the printed music to the castle, Ms. Stuart finds Henrietta Pussycat practicing her dance steps with King Friday XIII. King Friday and Henrietta join Ms. Stuart in singing the song borrowed from the Museum-Go-Round.

Back with Mister Rogers, he concludes by singing Goodnight God.

Notes

Dr. Frogg is not seen during the episode until he appears outside the Museum-Go-Round with Mrs. Frogg during the closing credits.

The first word in the title of the song borrowed from the Museum-Go-Round is difficult to understand. No mention of this “ancient folk song” could be found through multiple online resources. Although unconfirmed, it is reasonable to think that “Lou” in the title is a reference to Lou Snider who performed the music on the CBC episodes of Misterogers.
