Misterogers (CBC, 1/15/1964)

Network: Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Air Date: January 15, 1964

Mister Rogers introduces viewers to a toy poodle named Briget. He wonders what she thought about when she woke up that morning and shares his own waking thoughts by singing I Think I’m Going To Like Today.

In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Mr. Farmer’s dog, Louie, is not feeling well and he hopes to see Dr. Frogg. Mrs. Frogg explains that Dr. Frogg has been so busy lately that he’s not even had time for sleep. Mr. Farmer is able to get a few minutes with Dr. Frogg, but Dr. Frogg only has time to give Louie a partial exam. He asks Dr. Farmer to assist him in finding a nurse to help with his veterinary work. It happens that Mr. Farmer’s wife is a nurse.

When Mr. Farmer returns with his wife, she sings You Have To Learn Your Trade and Dr. Frogg gladly welcomes her assistance. While Mrs. Farmer and Dr. Frogg get to work, Mr. Farmer joins Mrs. Frogg for tea at the Museum-Go-Round.

Back at the house, Mister Rogers talks briefly about doctors and nurses before sharing a photo sent to him by his three young friends – Cynthia, Christopher, and Celeste. He concludes by singing Tomorrow.

Notes

Mrs. Frogg’s full name — Hilda Margaret — is mentioned a few times in this episode.
