Edgar Cooke

First MRN Appearance: 0002
Last MRN Appearance: 1747
Performed By: Fred Rogers

Edgar Cooke is the castle cook in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe. Every word that Edgar speaks is sung in an operatic tone because he was hired by King Friday XIII to be a singing cook.[1]

In addition to his duties and castle cook, Edgar Cooke has also filled the role of Neighborhood border guard.[2] Early on, Edgar was the first line of communication between Mister Rogers and the Neighborhood of Make-Believe.

Edgar has appeared in one Neighborhood opera playing the part of a star in A Star for Kitty. Although his hat is rarely removed, when it is one can see that Edgar is almost completely bald.[3]
