Tim Burton's "Hansel and Gretel"

In June 2014, fans of popular film director Tim Burton were thrilled when a copy of Burton's short film Hansel and Gretel appeared online. Originally broadcast by the Disney Channel on Halloween night 1983, rumors developed throughout the years that Burton's version of the classic tale had been lost.[1]

Cast with amateur Japanese actors, this version of Hansel and Gretel takes on a dark, Burton-esque tone but largely follows the traditional storyline.

The film features a background score that will immediately sound familiar to fans of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood as it was composed and performed by Neighborhood Music Director Johnny Costa.
