THE NEIGHBORHOOD ARCHIVE - All Things Mister Rogers

Firefighters At School

Episode 317
Title Firefighters At School
Daniel's Doll
Air Date September 5, 2017

Daniel Tiger is at school pretending to be a firefighter as he anticipates a visit from the real Neighborhood firefighters. Miss Elaina creates confusion when she decides to pretend to be a firefighter instead of an astronaut. Teacher Harriet reminds her students that "you can be more than one thing."

When the Neighborhood firefighters arrive, the students are equally confused when they find that the firefighters are Music Man Stan and Doctor Anna. Again, they are reminded that a person can have more than one role in a community. The firefighters talk about their responsibility to protect the Neighborhood. When Prince Wednesday scrapes his hand, Doctor Anna takes a look at the injury and reminds the children that a person "can be more than one thing."

Daniel make-believes that the Trolley can be lots of things, as well.

Prince Tuesday arrives to pick up Prince Wednesday and is dressed for his new job as a lifeguard. He explains to Daniel that he does a lot of different things.
