Donkey Hodie has just completed work on her new show -- The Cow and Potato Bug Opera -- the story of a cow that wants to be "as groovy as a groovy potato bug." Since Duck Duck is great at building nests, Donkey asks her to build the set for the performance while Purple Panda is put in charge of costumes. Stanley is chosen as an actor to play the role of the cow.

When rehearsal begins, Donkey Hodie realizes that she forgot to cast someone as the potato bug. Stanley suggests his friend (and bug), Mr. Any-Buggy but he is far to small for the audience to see. Donkey demonstrates the kind of actor she needs for the part and everyone agrees that Donkey Hodie should play the potato bug herself while Purple Panda takes over as director of the performance.

Donkey does not like the many changes that Purple Panda makes to the show's grand finale. Mr. Any-Buggy reminds Donkey that she should listen to Panda's ideas just like he listened when she was in charge. Donkey Hodie and Purple Panda work together to put on a spectacular performance.

Notes

This episode pays tribute to one of the many operas featured on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood -- Potato Bugs and Cows, performed on Episode 1300.

Mr. Any-Buggy is likely a subtle nod to Mr. Anybody, a character fromMister Rogers' Neighborhood.
