The Someplace Else Singers are warming up their voices when they become distracted by the sounds coming from Harriett Elizabeth Cow's barn. When they go to investigate, Harriett reveals her newest invention -- the Bouncerino! As she goes back into the barn to work on another invention, Harriett leaves Donkey Hodie and her friends to be the first to bounce on the Bouncerator.
Everyone tries to justify why they should have the first turn. Purple Panda suggests a purple bamboo eating contest, Duck Duck proposes a contest to see who can fly the highest, and Bob Dog wants the first turn to go to whoever can be the first to dig up a "chewed up orange ball." Clearly each of these options gives an unfair advantage to one of the friends over the others.
After a failed attempt with all four of them taking the first turn together, they remember a bear-shaped weather vane nearby. Spinning the pointing bear, the first turn goes to whoever the bear singles out when it stops. Doing it this way gives no one an advantage and provides everyone a turn on the Bouncerino.
