A few years ago on Thanksgiving, I shared a quote from the conclusion of Episode 1365 which features the celebration of the Potato Harvest Festival in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe.

Rather than reinvent the wheel this Thanksgiving, I thought it was only appropriate to share the message again.

There's a special day each year called Thanksgiving and that's like a harvest festival. People giving thanks for what they have. Some people say their thanks and some people sing it. They might sing something like (sung to the tune of Tree Tree Tree): "Thank you, God, for food to eat / And families and friends to love / We love you, yes we do / Yes we do, we love you."

As I said a few years ago, on this Thanksgiving Day, I am very thankful for so many things. Among this Neighborhood Archive community, I am thankful for you. Your support of this effort is invaluable and I am grateful for each and every person who visits this site.

As Fred Rogers reminded us to do quite often, take some time to think about what and who you are thankful for. Not just today -- but every day.

Thank you, God. For food to eat. And families and friends to love.

Happy Thanksgiving, Neighbors.
